In fall 2011, the St. Charles County Boys & Girls Club sites in St. Charles and St. Peters MO began providing differentiated reading services to underserved youth by creating a Reading Success Center model program which our organization fledges and then trains them to continue the program. Both sites provide RIP (Reading Improvement Program) instruction during after-school and summer services. By the end of summer 2012, they will have served 175+ struggling readers who on group average gain one+ basic reading skill per hour within 20 hours, which brings most to grade level. The element these programs provide is individualized instruction supported by trained Classroom Directors and volunteers.
